Visual Manipulations for Improved Generalized Presentations
نویسندگان
چکیده
In many cooperative work sessions a presenter shares a view of her workstation screen with a group of passive viewers, projecting it on a large screen or using bitmapbased sharing protocols. While these schemes offer advantages of simplicity and sharing transparency over custom collaboration-aware tools, all group members will have the exact same view. Data deemed private by the presenter may be exposed and viewers have to watch the presenter’s detailed interactions, making it hard to infer her underlying intentions. We present a general system that allows customization of existing single user application views. Simple policy-guided manipulations are applied to the shared windows and image buffers, providing proactive privacy protection with relaxed verbosity and cues to meet presenter and viewers' needs.

Visual Causal Models Enhance Clinical Explanations of Treatments for Generalized Anxiety Disorder
A daily challenge in clinical practice is to adequately explain disorders and treatments to patients of varying levels of literacy in a time-limited situation. Drawing jointly upon research on causal reasoning and multimodal theory, the authors asked whether adding visual causal models to clinical explanations promotes patient learning. Participants were 86 people currently or formerly diagnose...
متن کاملMucocutaneous manifestations as the first presentations of HIV infection
Background: Mucocutaneous manifestations may occur inevery stage of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. Some of them may be the first presentations. In this study, weevaluated the prevalence of dermatologic manifestations as thefirst presentations of HIV/AIDS in 25 Iranian patients.Method: In a cross sectional study, we evaluated 25 new casesof HIV infection whose HIV infections were d...
متن کاملTilt aftereffect due to adaptation to natural stimuli
The human visual system continuously adjusts to the current environment. To investigate these adjustments, biases in observers' perceptions owing to changes in the visual environment are measured (visual aftereffects). Typically, the stimuli used are synthetic and are composed of oriented patterns such as lines or gratings. These patterns are known to activate individual neurons in the visual c...
متن کاملAn improved pseudospectral approximation of generalized Burger-Huxley and Fitzhugh-Nagumo equations
In this research paper, an improved Chebyshev-Gauss-Lobatto pseudospectral approximation of nonlinear Burger-Huxley and Fitzhugh- Nagumo equations have been presented. The method employs chebyshev Gauss-Labatto points in time and space to obtain spectral accuracy. The mapping has introduced and transformed the initial-boundary value non-homogeneous problem to homogeneous problem. The main probl...
متن کاملAn Improved Automatic EEG Signal Segmentation Method based on Generalized Likelihood Ratio
It is often needed to label electroencephalogram (EEG) signals by segments of similar characteristics that are particularly meaningful to clinicians and for assessment by neurophysiologists. Within each segment, the signals are considered statistically stationary, usually with similar characteristics such as amplitude and/or frequency. In order to detect the segments boundaries of a signal, we ...
